Crackdown 3 Teaser Site Pops Up Ahead of E3 2016, References a Beta
Crackdown 3 could be poised for a big showing next week at E3.
A teaser website for Microsoft's anticipated Crackdown 3 has emerged, just days before E3 kicks off. Discovered by a Crackdown forums member, the site refers to the user as an "agent" and mentions five "mission dates." The first is for today, June 10, with others to follow on a weekly basis until July 7.
The website also mentions "BETA_INIT," which could be a reference the previously announced Crackdown 3 beta. There are also references to how players can earn "$2/$10 toward your agency pension," though it's unknown what this might mean. You can check out the website here to decipher the clues for yourself.
Little has been seen of Crackdown 3 since Gamescom 2015, when Microsoft and developer Reagent Games showed off how it is utilizing cloud computing to power the game's physics model.
Crackdown 3 doesn't currently have a release date, but series creator Dave Jones narrowed it down to summer 2016. Microsoft later clarified that the entirety of Crackdown 3 won't be available during summer 2016, as Jones suggested. Instead, it's just multiplayer that will be playable in that window.
In other Crackdown 3 news, some newly released images showcase a weird gun and bad facial hair.
