Criterion announces joint development program with Alias Wavefront
Criterion and Alias Wavefront will connect Maya and RenderWare.
Criterion announced today that it will jointly develop a program to connect its RenderWare middleware program with Alias Wavefront's Maya 3D content creation tools. The partnership will increase game development efficiency by implementing workflow enhancement solutions.
"We've seen a significant number of Maya game customers adopting the RenderWare solution for next-generation console game development," Mike Wilson, director for Alias Wavefront, said. "Criterion's expansion of their solution to the RenderWare Platform indicates a leadership approach to the console middleware solution space. The joint development effort between our companies will greatly accelerate the pace at which our mutual customers can iterate and optimize their Maya 3D game artwork specifically for RenderWare Platform-based games."
"Maya is coming on strong as the content creation tool for next-generation games, and our mutual customers are asking us for tighter integration between Maya and RenderWare Platform," Steve Smith, Criterion's business development director, said. "The approach we are taking together is designed to enable the kind of efficient experimentation workflow that promotes the delivery of great game content."
