CRKD Reveals Gibson Les Paul Guitar Controller For Fortnite Festival
Improve your Fortnite Festival performance with the CRKD Gibson Les Paul Guitar Controller, releasing this June.
Fortnite is more than just a battle royale nowadays, with Fortnite Festival serving as a bonafide rhythm game. And if you’re interested in the authentic Guitar Hero/Rock Band experience, the upcoming CRKD Gibson Les Paul Blueberry Burst Pro Edition needs to be on your radar. Developed by the team responsible for Guitar Hero and DJ Hero hardware, it looks like a premium accessory that could hit all the right notes. Preorders are now open ahead of its June release, and reserving a unit now gets you a free Purple/Orange Ombre Guitar Should Strap and an exclusive Collector’s Pin for free.
If you can’t wait that long, the PDP Riffmaster is already available. The Riffmaster offers the same core features and is currently on sale for $105-$110 (was $130), depending on your platform of choice. Notably, the Riffmaster has a PS5/PS4 model, whereas the upcoming Les Paul does not.
Gibson Les Paul Blueberry Burst Pro Edition (Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PC)
$130
Officially licensed by Xbox, this CRKD x Gibson guitar is compatible with Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PC, and Android devices. You’ll most likely end up using it for Fortnite Festival, but it also works for titles like YARG and Clone Hero on PC and Rock Band 4 on Xbox.
Featuring mechanical buttons for reliable input, a Hall Effect strum bar with haptic feedback, and a gorgeous Les Paul design, it’s a pretty robust plastic guitar. It even supports both wired and wireless play thanks to a 2.4GHz dongle and Bluetooth.
All your face buttons and triggers can be found on a central hub, giving you a simple way to navigate menus without needing a standard Xbox controller, and a modular fret neck lets you swap it out for a new style. Of course, no premium controller is complete without a bit of RGB lighting, and you’ll find plenty of colorful lights scattered throughout the Gibson Les Paul guitar.
Gibson Les Paul Blueberry Burst Pro Edition (Multi-platform)
$130
This version offers all the same features as the above, though it’s instead compatible with Switch and PC, along with older consoles like PS3. Beyond those compatibility tweaks, you’re still getting reliable mechanical buttons, a Hall Effect strum bar, and both wired and wireless support via a 2.4GHz dongle and Bluetooth.
The multi-platform controller also offer support for rhythm games beyond Fortnite Festival, including old Guitar Hero and Rock Band games for PS3 as well as PC titles such as Clone Hero and YARG.
Looking for something that won’t take up as much space in your game room? The CRKD Neo S Fortnite Festival Edition Controller for Nintendo Switch and PC is a unique option. It has a detachable five-fret module, allowing you a more natural way to hit the notes flowing down your screen compared to the standard face buttons. At $60, it’s also much more affordable than traditional guitar controllers. Along with a vibrant purple mode, a black edition is launching on March 1.
