Second quarter revs on the rise.
CUC International, parent company of Sierra On-Line and Davidson & Associates, which owns Blizzard Entertainment, today announced a 21 percent increase in revenues for the second quarter over the same period last year.
Revenues for the second quarter ending July 31, 1997, were US$672.7 million, as compared with $555.7 million for the same quarter a year ago.
CUC's net income increased 128 percent to $92.3 million versus $40.5 million for the same period a year ago.
On a per share basis, the company reported $0.22 per share for the second quarter, which exceeds analysts' estimate of $0.21. For the same quarter a year ago, the company reported $0.16 per share, which excludes after-tax costs incurred in conjunction with the acquisitions of Sierra On-Line and Davidson & Associates.
