Just a few days ago, we reported a shake-up in the North American challenger scene. Former Curse Academy player Cris was transferred to Team Coast which consequently, left CA searching for fresh blood on top and AD Carry. The team has officially announced that Hauntzer and Cop will become the new starters for Curse Academy and will represent the organization in the Expansion tournament in November.

Unfamiliar to many, Kevin 'Hauntzer' Yarnell played as a top laner for Team LoLPro. Proficient in both mid and top, the talented solo laner has now achieved a starter spot on CA. Team coach, William 'iVillain' Hoag, has briefly gone over what makes Hauntzer a good choice and how he found himself as a starter on the team.

“Hauntzer has really impressed me. He never lost lane in the playoffs against already established names like Cris and Rhux. I expect him to make great strides in his individual play on the team and believe he will be a full force to reckon with not only in the expansion tournament, but the LCS as well.”

The other addition is a familiar face to League of Legends fans - David 'Cop' Robertson. After a disappointing fourth place finish during the Summer split of the NA LCS, Cop and Team Curse mutually agreed to end their cooperation which marked an end of an era for the team. Despite this, Robertson was given the chance to play for CA as management saw this as a viable option. Now, joining Brandon 'Saintvicious' DiMarco, he has the opportunity to score valuable points for the Curse organisation once more.

With the Expansion tournament drawing near, Curse Academy's chances have now increased given the strength of their new roster. The full line-up of Curse Academy is as follows.

  • Kevin 'Hauntzer' Yarnell - Top
  • Brandon 'Saintvicious' DiMarco - Jungler
  • Lae-Young 'Keane' Jang - Mid
  • David 'Cop' Robertson - AD Carry
  • Michael 'BunnyFuFuu' Kurylo - Support
