Syrian American here. I find this pretty funny, and the reason that's easily confused with the real Damascus is because businesses there have avoided building skyscrapers there for fear of ruining the skyline. One did, and it got a lot of shit for it.

Damascus is beautiful, and it's at the root of civilization. It is the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world ~around 9000 years old. That's about 20 times more than the U.S. itself or any city in it. I just can't wait for Bashar Al Assad to get kicked out by the people. It's about time Syria gets democracy (the Syrian people revolted in 1982 as well, but that was less successful.

When the mess is over, maybe a game will be made about it. You start as one of the teenagers that launched the revolution by spray-painting the side of a school with anti-regime slogans. Then you go on a long journey from arrest, to torture, to escape, protests/facing riot police, and to joining the Free Syrian Army to fight tyranny.

I'm sure the artists at Ubisoft feel honored by this mistake.

Haha, this is great, being a resident in Denmark i can tell you that TV2 sucks. Recently, they had a "breaking news" where TV2, the heroes of journalism, "uncovered that people actually smoked weed at music festivals!". What a bunch of jokers, what are they going to "uncover" next? That people drink beer at football matches?
