If you enjoyed the faster action of Bloodborne as opposed to Dark Souls' slower, more measured approach, then you might like the looks of Dark Souls III and its Thief class. Developer From Software demoed the class in a livestream, which showed off the side-step ability and bow and arrow. You can check out the archived video below.

The video features plenty of Dark Souls combat with the player mostly utilizing a small shield and blade. Many backstabs are executed and not only by sneaking up on enemies; the player also quickly side-steps around enemies in combat to get behind them and perform the lethal attack. There are times when dodging an enemy's attack gives them enough of a window to deal the killing blow.

Dark Souls III's bow and arrow is also shown and it looks like it shoots much faster than in previous games; however, it also consumes MP, so it might be a type of special move. The player also carries out a special dodge later in the demo that consumes MP.

The area in which the stream takes place reminds me of Hemwick Charnel Lane from Bloodborne. The Dark Souls III area has gravestones lying about, and with the faster action, it wouldn't be surprising if a less-knowledgeable got it mixed up with the PS4-exclusive game.

Dark Souls III releases on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on March 24.
