Dark Souls Tabletop RPG Rule Book Revealed, Can't Be Hacked By Other Players
Steamforged's Dark Souls tabletop RPG will be available for preorder next month.
A Dark Souls tabletop RPG is on the way, and today, Steamforged Games has revealed the rule book that players will be getting to craft their own sordid adventures.
Steamforged has a wealth of experience bringing the Dark Souls experience to physical games, having released a board game and card game inspired by the franchise already. The developer's Dark Souls tabletop RPG, announced this past December, is its latest gaming collaboration. Steamforged has previously adapted other gaming franchises into board games, including Resident Evil 3 and Horizon Zero Dawn.
Today's reveal of the game's hardcover rule book comes with just a few sneak peeks inside at the kinds of adventures players will be able to put together. Compatible with 5E rules, and with some extra Dark Souls mechanics thrown in to complete the experience, the tabletop RPG's rule book is packed with character classes and a new magic casting system.
As for crafting adventures, players will find settings and monsters in the pages of the hardback core book. Though Steamforged didn't give many specifics, players will at least be able to explore the kingdom of Lothric, which served as the setting for Dark Souls 3.
Steamforged's Dark Souls tabletop RPG doesn't have a set release date, but players can preorder the game starting next month.
Elsewhere in the world of Dark Souls, Bandai Namco recently had to shut down its servers for every entry in the franchise on PC. The move came after an exploit was discovered that would let an attacker run code on someone else's PC, effectively giving them control over it.
