Feel the Fury.

THQ Nordic has confirmed the Darksiders 3 release date as November 27, 2018. Along with the release date, the publisher has detailed pre-order options that will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC game. Anyone that puts their money down early at participating retailers will get the Fury armor DLC, which is described as "a completely original skin for [protagonist] Fury's base armor that will set her apart and always be visible during gameplay."

Those that pre-order digitally from the PlayStation Store or from the Microsoft Store will have a choice between three versions of the game. The Standard Edition ($60/£45) is just the base game, while the Deluxe Edition ($72/£50) includes the bonus armor skin and two paid DLCs that will launch in the future.

Finally, the Blades & Whip Edition ($90/£59) features the game, the bonus armor, the two pieces of DLC, as well as Darksiders: Warmarstered Edition and Darksiders 2: Deathfinitive Edition. This package effectively includes three games, providing the complete Darksiders series experience thus far. Pre-ordering any of these three versions from the PlayStation or Microsoft stores will also get you access to the game 24 hours early.

Beyond the digital pre-order options, are two physical editions of the game that feature extra bonuses. Take a look at what they contain below.

Darksiders III Collector’s Edition ($150):

  • Premium Box
  • Fury Figurine about 29cm - 11" high
  • Original Steelbook
  • Artbook
  • Soundtrack
  • Darksiders 3 Game
  • Exclusive Armor DLC; completely original skin replacing Fury’s base armor set (purely aesthetic, no gameplay impact)

Darksiders III Apocalypse Edition ($400):

  • Premium Box about 117cm - 46"
  • Wall Scroll - Fabric print with hanger 77 x 100 - 30" x 40"
  • 4 Figurines: Fury (~29cm 11" high), Vulgrim, War, Death (each about 25cm 10" high)
  • Heavy weight amulet (5cm - 2" with necklace)
  • Original Steelbook
  • Artbook
  • Soundtrack
  • Darksiders 3 Game
  • Exclusive Armor DLC; completely original skin replacing Fury’s base armor set (purely aesthetic, no gameplay impact)

Darksiders 3 is being developed by Gunfire Games, a studio that is formed of ex-Vigil Games employees who worked on the original Darksiders and Darksiders 2. The first two games in the series launched in 2010 and 2012 and were re-released in 2015 and 2016 respectively. Nordic Games acquired the rights to the Darksiders series following the collapse of THQ in 2013.

So pay $250 extra (from the $150 CE price point) JUST FOR 3 more statues, a wall scroll, and an amulet necklace? That's $50 for each extra item. What a massive rip-off.....

@PSYCHOV3N0M: Huh? You can choose not to buy it, it's just some statues ffs. I've seen people blowing even more money into figures, this 50$ pricetag each item (which could go anywhere from 60 to 70 each statue) seems more than fair. You must be new to the collectible game if you think this is pricy...

Considering that they're going all "special edition" on us with figurines and artbooks and all that, with barely any info on the game itself, and barely any attention from people outside from Darksiders fans, I just feel like that might be a shot in the foot. With a release date of November out of nowhere, i feel like this game will just slip under the radar and nobody will pick it up, and that's a shame....because the 2 Darksiders games are great, very overlooked.

Who Knows, maybe i'll have to wait and see what the outcome might be.

"The first two games in the series launched in 2010 and 2012 and were re-released in 2015 and 2016 respectively."

Respectively means "in the order already mentioned". Darksiders 2 was re-released first (in 2015) so those dates as you've written them do not correspond respectively. 2010 and 2016 are the release/re-release dates of Darksiders 1, while 2012 and 2015 are the release/re-release dates for Darksiders 2. So for what you're saying to be respective, you have to flip one set of dates. For example:

"The first two games in the series launched in 2010 and 2012 and were re-released in 2016 and 2015 respectively."

My excitement for this series is pretty much dead at this point. I might buy this one from the bargain bin a couple of years after release.

Uh, the game is coming out in just a few months and I haven't seen any gameplay or even trailers for it at all so far? That doesn't sound like we should expect much from it. But then I wasn't expecting much from it anyway considering that I quit the last game half way through because of how boring and monotonous it was.

@Atzenkiller:
The first game was an eyesore and could have been a lot better. I liked the second game a bit more, I liked the RPG elements added to it but for this big open world, There was nothing to do and it sucked. It was boring. I don't expect much from the third game but I enjoyed the second game enough to give it a shot when it's super cheap.

Keen for the game. Really need to finish Darksiders 2 sometime.

Not that interested in the Fury figure. Art book would be neat though.

@Chico86_basic: Maybe instead of asking the same question you should look up the stats for the hardware of the current gen consoles and the Switch. That might give you some insight. Just lowering the resolution to 720p is usually not enough to port it over.

@Atzenkiller: Judging by the trailer it didn't seem that demanding at first, but I could be wrong. If I remember correctly Darksiders 2 was on WiiU.

@Chico86_basic: the wiiu and switch aren't that far apart Hardware wise, so I wouldn't count on it. If it did get ported I'd expect terrible performance...

@Chico86_basic: It was originally released for PS3 and X360 and I think the Wii U when it came out had hardware similar to the PS3, that's why many PS3 games got ported over to it. It was even able to run games in 1080p, something the Switch can't from what I've heard so far.

@Atzenkiller: You're misinformed. Switch runs native 1080p while WiiU was 720p. Anyway all ports are really nice and welcome on Switch, but of course some edges need to be cut for that. Also I'm grateful Square was the first to realize the smartest way to deal with the Switch is getting a development division just for it. I wish other third parties followed suit.

This is good. Because this means that Strife's game won't be long.

Not sure if that’s the best time to release it considering the slew of AAA massive titles being released in that same window but I’m sure those out there craving for more Darksiders are all rejoining at this news today.

While the Darsiders name isn’t going to stand on the same level as something like a Red Dead 2 or a Call of Duty (2 franchises that have managed to seep into the mainstream gamers catalogue.) it still is a reputable franchise nonetheless and one worth checking off a day on the calendar for.

@videogameninja: It comes out right after Black Friday. Not a good time for release imo.

They would be better off releasing in January before Days gone and Metro.
