Days Gone first launched on PS4 in 2019, earning mixed reviews for its unique zombie apocalypse storyline and engaging combat. Bend Studio is now giving the game a fresh coat of paint, as Days Gone Remastered is heading to PS5 and PC on April 25. Preorders are now open for the remaster, which features not just new graphics, but also DualSense support, new accessibility features, a survival arcade mode, and more. That should make it the best way to experience Days Gone in 2025. The new version will cost $50 on PS5 and PC, but current owners of the game can get a full upgrade for just $10, and new players can use this upgrade path to save a few bucks on the PS5 version if they pick up a PS4 copy while they're on sale. Here's a look at the best ways to preorder Days Gone Remastered, along with all announced preorder bonuses.

I definitely will get the upgrade for $10. I never really gave Days Gone a chance on PS4 though got it for cheap years digitally.

"For just $10" I can buy a more worthwhile indie game, or a "not so old" full game on a sale. $10 for a resolution upgrade and slighlty better facial animations is still too much. There was a time, at the start of this gen, when devs (including Sony's) gave this kind of upgrades FOR FREE! Guess they dont need to push these "upgrades" in order to sell consoles now

@vatususreturns: How quickly people forget that when the PS4 came out; all game upgrades were $10; if we even got an upgrade at all. Very few games got upgrades that generation. We were lucky they were kind enough to give us some free upgrades for a while on this generation. We weren’t entitled to that. You are more than welcome to not get upgrades that you don’t think are worth it. This is more than just better resolution and facial animations. It’s also new game modes, VRR, haptic feedback and adaptive trigger support, to name a few things. Those things absolutely make a difference as far as I’m concerned. I am more than happy to pay $10 for that. The entitlement of gamers never ceases to amaze me.

@stickemup: cool, u do u. Personaly, I can put my $10 into better use. Oh, and btw, not ALL game upgrades on PS4 had a price on them. I remember getting plenty of upgrades for free on the PS4: Journey, Flower, Hotline Miami 1 and 2, Sound Shapes, etc etc

For the love of god do not buy this.

1. The game isn't old enough to really benefit from a remaster; it looks quite excellent, and runs well.

2. While the game is good, it hasn't aged well and there are a lot of other, better options if you need an open-world action game. Many of the game mechanics that were tolerable at release now feel a bit clunky, too.

3. Punish Sony. The community has been asking for a Day's Gone sequel for quite some time, as it's a newer IP that feels like it could do well. However I guess sales weren't high enough to warrant a sequel, and yet...they warrant a remaster? This reeks of a cheap cash grab. Don't reward Sony!

Unless you have a super-specific craving for an open-world zombie game with survival elements and a biker aesthetic, there are other games to spend your money on.

Just my opinion, though; do what you want.

@mrbojangles25: I'll buy it cause I'm a fan. I didn't buy the Horizon remaster cause that is really overrated and Aloy is boring character.

@neometal89: Ya I liked the game too. Really hoping for a sequel.

It's why a remaster instead of a sequel hurts. Hell, I'd take a remake.

Bring the message, buy this, so Sony understand its greatness and how "you don't want more Concord".

I love The Last of Us Part 2 even more, but Days Gone is easily one of my favorite recent games. It's extraordinarily good. Though already looks gorgeous on PS4 Pro

If I had a ps5 though...
