DC: Joker Movie's First Poster Released, Teases Trailer [Update]
The Joker movie's first teaser trailer is coming Wednesday.
What a wild 24 hours for the Clown Prince of Crime. Less than a day after Gotham revealed its final Joker look for the Fox show's upcoming series finale, the first poster for the upcoming Joker standalone film has arrived. Joaquin Phoenix plays the titular madman in Joker, from The Hangover director Todd Phillips. [Update: The Joker trailer has been released, and it offers us our first good look at what to expect from the new movie.]
The poster doesn't give away too much, other than a slight look at Phoenix in this movie's take on the iconic Joker makeup and a fair amount of blood smeared in, as he looks to the sky. In the film, Phoenix plays Arthur Fleck, a man that essentially dons the white paint and maniacal smile to become the Joker. We don't know much in the way of plot details yet, but a previous photo released by Phillips suggests Fleck may actually be a circus clown.

Thankfully, we should know more about the movie--and this version of the classic character--very soon. Along with the poster, Phillips promised that the first teaser trailer for the film would be released on Wednesday, April 3. So make sure you check back for that.
The poster's arrival comes at a very interesting time, as Phillips posted it the same morning that Avengers: Endgame tickets went on sale--and crashed many ticketing websites. If you need something tide you over until the Joker trailer is released, though, you can obsess over this new Endgame teaser.
Joker also stars Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Marc Maron, and Frances Conroy. It's currently scheduled for theaters on October 4.
