Destiny 2 Officially Announced With First Teaser Image
Destiny 2 launches later this year.
Without any additional details or real specifics, Destiny 2 has been officially announced.
The name was confirmed with a tweet shared today by the series' official Twitter account, as pictured below. It depicts Earth's Last City, which apparently has been attacked.
Publisher Activision had previously confirmed a sequel to Destiny was in the works and would be released sometime this fall. A recent poster leak suggested it will launch in September and be preceded by a beta, which might be available first on PS4.
Previous rumors have suggested Destiny 2 will arrive for PC alongside consoles and offer denser planets to explore.
In terms of official information, Activision said last year that the game aims to broaden the appeal of the franchise. Beyond that, we only know it will not allow you to transfer items or experience from the first Destiny, with only your appearance making the transition.
Today's reveal comes just a day before the launch of Destiny's final live event, Age of Triumph.
