Destiny: Taken King Exact Release Time Announced
"It's been a great year."
Bungie has announced the exact release time for Destiny's upcoming Taken King expansion. We knew the add-on was coming on September 15, but Bungie has now revealed that it will launch that day at 2 AM PDT. That comes out to 5 AM EDT and 10 AM UK. Better brew some strong coffee.
"It's been a great year," Bungie said on its website. "Hard to believe it's almost over. No tears, though. Destiny Year Two should be another ride worthy of your passion and feedback. I'm so ready to stop talking about The Taken King, and get to listening to your stories."

The Taken King is Destiny's most substantial expansion to date, making major changes to how the game plays and more. It costs $40 or you can get it through the $60 Destiny Legendary Edition, which also comes with the two previous expansions, The Dark Below and House of Wolves.
Destiny's launch on September 15 will be preceded one week earlier by a significant update across all platforms. Even if you don't buy The Taken King, you'll need to download this update on September 8. It is so large that you may need to upgrade your hardware to download it.
