Conquer pathetic earthlings in HD.

THQ Nordic has continues its rollout of new game announcements just before E3 2019 begins. The latest it has revealed is a remake of the 2005 alien action game Destroy All Humans, where you play as an alien invader on Earth. The tongue-in-cheek action game is slated for release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2020.

As in the original, the game is set in the 1950s and puts you in the role of an invading conqueror named Crypto-137. You can pose as humans, use powers and weapons like psychokinesis and an anal probe gun, and explore the Lost Mission of Area 42. It's being developed by Black Forest Games, an internal THQ Nordic studio.

Now Playing: Destroy All Humans Remake Officially Revealed Before E3 2019 - GS News Update

No Caption Provided

"The cult-classic returns! Terrorize the people of 1950s Earth in the role of the evil alien Crypto-137," the product description read. "Harvest their DNA and bring down the US government in the faithful remake of the legendary alien invasion action adventure. Annihilate puny humans using an assortment of alien weaponry and psychic abilities. Reduce their cities to rubble with your flying Saucer! One giant step on mankind!"

With E3 coming up soon, THQ Nordic said that it would have three games to reveal this week, which has been an inordinately busy one. This is the third of those three. First it announced a remake of SpongeBob: Battle for Bikini Bottom for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Then alongside the recent Google Stadia presentation, the company announced Darksiders Genesis, an overhead Diablo-like action game featuring the horseman Strife.

This is the last of what's expected from THQ, but you can expect more games and news in all of the upcoming press conferences. We're tracking all the newly announced games at E3 in one place to help you stay on top of everything that's coming.

Nice. Hopefully they'll remake both of them, not just 1.

Wonder how much of a "remake" it will be, as opposed to just a visual remaster.

Will there be different physics when you fly around and destroy buildings?

I remember the concerned faces my friends parents were making when I brought round Destroy All Humans to play on their PS2, we started zapping farmers with electricity as the NPC's screamed... good times lol.

Day one purchase and love the first Destroy all Humans on PS2 many years ago and I think my very last Destroy all Humans was Big Willy Unleashed.

I really enjoyed the first game. Wondering if they'll make a port for the Switch. Would have been nice to have a completely new game, though.

Good game. When I want to play it I boot on the original Xbox. So how about a real game? I mean the original was still really, really limited in terms of world size, NPC interaction and even in destruction. I guess remake means they're really going to improve those?

I kind of wish these remake teams would just take the absolute shittiest games ever released and turn them good. Remaking a good game is obsolete, unless someone really can't play a game without a gold filter.

I know I know most people don't have or even heard about the original so this is like brand new mobile game and its cheap for THQ to make so it makes sense.

Never got to play the originals, but I think they are on the 360. Is it worth it, or should I just wait for the remake?

@Barighm: The first game is backwards compatible on Xbox One, it was a very fun quirky game for it's time. It and the first Mercenaries game were both made by the same developer and had similar gameplay styles; pretty open maps, mission based, and you get to cause all kinds of chaos.

Has anyone been fired yet for their 8 Chan AMA?

No?

https://www.gameinformer.com/opinion/2019/03/01/the-industry-refuses-to-hold-itself-accountable-and-thq-nordic-proves-it

Then I have no interest in buying their games. I bet they thought it was forgotten.

@BeefoTheBold: That's not an opinion. That's a statement of intent based on information from a rage piece that clearly states the party responsible apologized and deleted the links, but because it wasn't done immediately, it's this horrible thing. You're essentially basing your stance on pure, unbridled, merciless hate. And that's just stupid. Worse, you're bringing more attention to a website that shouldn't get it.

@Barighm:

I disagree with a number of things you said.

1. The party waited a week to delete the links and backtrack. They tried to wait the whole thing out. Others in the industry had to shame them into finally doing it. They did not do it voluntarily, which IS a horrible thing.

2. I don't buy the apology. It tried to imply they didn't know about the child sex, racism and other nasty stuff on 8 Chan. They claimed ignorance which is either criminal negligence since a single 5 minute google search would have told them what 8 Chan was, or a lie.

3. I'm basing my stance on a zero tolerance policy for what should be obvious: don't do PR stunts on places that feature child sex, racism, etc. Your stance can be different, that's entirely up to you. But I'm entitled to my stance just as you're entitled to yours.

To me, I see zero accountability from THQ Nordic and therefore I have the stance of zero purchases. Nothing is requiring you to do the same so I'll say what I want to say on the subject.

No Nintendo Switch version? That’s a little surprising.
