Square Enix has detailed the first DLC update for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. The story-based content is called "System Rift," and will feature the return of Frank Pritchard, Sarif Industries' head of the cyber-security. The character was last seen in Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

"In System Rift you will re-unite with Frank Pritchard, Adam's friend and former colleague at Sarif Industries, and assist him in hunting down information on the mysterious Santeau Group," the publisher explains in a press release.

"Desperate to get more information, Pritchard targets one of the most secure data banks ever created--the Palisade Blade. In agreeing to help, Adam may also be able to uncover hints as to who the illuminati really are."

System Rift will be available on September 23 through Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, and on PC. It will cost £9.59 on Xbox One and £9.49 on PS4 and PC. The DLC is included as part of the Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Season Pass, so those that own it will not need to pay extra.

The second story DLC included in the pass is called "A Criminal Past" and will be available in early 2017. You can see the full list of all the content you get as part of the pass here.

System Rift will be shown during PAX this weekend.

The game launched on August 23 in our Deus Ex: Mankind Divided review, it earned an 8/10.

"Deus Ex: Mankind Divided refines and reinforces the defining foundations of the series," said Edmond Tran. "It creates challenging situations and gives players the tools and flexibility to deal with them in a multitude of ways, all within an absorbing cyberpunk world. Although not a significant departure from Human Revolution, Mankind Divided is still a uniquely fulfilling experience, one which feels rare in games today."

Not very exciting, considering there is already a huge bank that you can break in.

I'm more than good with this.

I absolutely loved Deus Ex Mankind Divided. The story, the atmosphere and the game play were all great. My Game of the Year hands down. I'm all in on any story related DLC day one!

The main game was only released about 2 weeks ago. Even if they have already created DLC for it, at least wait a bit so it doesn't look so money grabbing. They probably had this DLC wrapped up and ready before the main release anyway, which irritates me as new releases are not cheap to begin with.

@NoiseMonkeyy: it gets more complicated with big games like this, when they very well MAY have had most of it finished, but disk space could have been the issue. the game is like 40 gigs... absolutely massive.
Just an angle many people don't consider.
I hope its substantial content, if not ill probably agree with you.

@NoiseMonkeyy: As a developer on both games for the past 9 years (still am), I can tell you the DLC wasn't done when the game was released.

I'd like to think DX fans would rather have DLC content sooner than later. (Just to preserve supposed money grabbing appearance)

Cheers and have fun!

Nice to see Prichard back in game, but he wasn't last seen in HR. He was a lead character in the novel released with the game.

@se7en1989: my pc version is fine as well averaging around 40 to 70fps and no microstuttering maybe because I have a 2k gsync monitor and helps a lot but game looks beautiful and runs smooth mist options are on medium but that's because Im using 2k monitor with gtx 980 still looks beautiful though

@games2525: i7-6850k, 64GB RAM, and GTX1080 SLI. I'm having a crapton of performance issues, micro-stuttering, frame rates dropping. With this set up I can't run this game on Ultra preset without running into issues.

All of you saying you don't have any problems with PC version, either you don't have a high end PC and you tweaked down pretty much all graphical settings just to play the game smoothly, or you have a high end PC and decided not to run it on ultra because you'd have the same, if not worse, performance problems.

Maybe optimize your shit before you try to suck more cash out of your fans, SQEX?

@games2525: I've got lower performance than I'd like, given the visuals, but yeah ... game seems alright so far. After Human Revolution, I expected rough edges and limited patching.

@indigoj: I blame Thief, and squeenix's money grubbing. Its a solid game though, i liked it only slightly less than HR.

@indigoj: Lot of shady stuff going on around this game, apparently they started development on the sequel at more or less the same time they started developing this game. And all the micro-transactions stuff was dumped on the developers last second.

@indigoj: Maybe the 2017 DLC, but this one doesn't sound like it's going to be an ending. This sounds like a side mission.
