Deus Ex: The Fall--the first mobile game based on the Square Enix action franchise--will launch July 11 for $7, the publisher announced today.

The game will be available this Thursday for $6.99/£4.99/€ 5.99 from the App Store on iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.

Deus Ex: The Fall was developed by Square Enix's mobile division in Europe in colloboration with Eidos Montreal and N-Fusion. It is described as a "story-driven action RPG."

The game is set in 2027, a period described as a "golden era for science, technology, and human augmentation," but also a time of serious social divide and "global conspiracy." The game stars Ben Saxon, a former British SAS Mercenary who underwent a physical augmentation.

Deus Ex: The Fall is compatible with iPad 2 and above, iPhone 4S and above, and iPod Touch 5 and above. No mention was made of a release for Android or Windows Phone devices.

In addition to Deus Ex: The Fall, Eidos Montreal is working on two unannounced titles. A Deus Ex feature film is also in the works with CBS Films and Exorcism director Scott Derrickson.

Deus Ex: The Fall will be launching initially for iPhone and iPad. We have an Android version planned but no timings confirmed.

Also I want a proper sequel with more plot development for the PC.

To add, why didn't they think of the Vita? It is a better market for it regardless of smaller user base. Missed opportunity!

Mobile games are good only if they are "mobile" games.Most likely playing The Fall on ipad will feel like I'm playing a dumbed down version of human revolution.If you are going to make a mobile game then make it something new and different not just a dumbed down copy of console version, that's it.

Well it's at least good that this game didn't occupy a lot of the developers' time, because now they can begin working on a real Deus Ex game (yeah, I know how that sounds, but mobile games are really not what I consider worth spending time/money on).

Why the hell people think mobile is only angry birds? I play KOTOR, Walking Dead, Injustice ( with a lot of unlockables for the console), Magic, Bastion. They added Limbo and Xcom and now are adding Deus EX. There are a LOT of real games to play on ipad, once you get used to the controls, is not bad at all. Of course i didn't buy it thinking about games, but they were a great addition.

Well there are now things out there like the NVIDIA Shield, Wikipad, and Ouya and people STILL want to complain that mobile games never have physical controls not to mention the Bluetooth controllers out there as well. People hate mobile gaming because it's SO incredibly new and different from anything we've typically had in the past, plus its just EXPLODED in popularity the last few years. I understand hesitation but these games have been around for years now and are only becoming more popular as time goes on. Gamers need to just realize that this kind of gaming is here to STAY for the time being, get over themselves, and just play games and have fun already. Besides, no one is forcing anyone to play mobile games. If you don't like them just don't play them. I don't know why people feel the need to be filled with ABSOLUTE HATRED for this kind of thing. They're just frickin video games. Granted, in app purchases SUCK HORRIBLY and should be done away with, but there are tons of great games without any hint of that crap. Regardless, they're video games. It's just a new form of handheld gaming. If you don't like them, then just don't play them. I don't know why people feel the need to be so hostile about it all the time.

Even if ''The Fall'' was decent I wouldn't be able to play it anyway as my IPod Touch is 3rd gen. Wish Apple wasn't so stingy with always releasing new versions of it's products every two years or so. Maybe if ''The Fall'' came out for Android I won't have that problem.
