Diablo 4's Rogue Class Shows Off Its Skills In New Trailer

Diablo IV will have at least four playable characters at launch, here's our first look at the bow and stealth focused Rogue class.

During BlizzConline 2021, Blizzard debuted a new trailer for Diablo IV. The trailer reveals the Rogue class, which will be included in the upcoming action-RPG at launch. In the new trailer, you can see the Rogue joining the other three available starting classes--Barbarian, Sorceress, and Druid--around a campfire. Just a group of adventurers being homies.

Like the other three, the Rogue class has been included in the Diablo franchise before. However, unlike the other three classes, the Rogue is one of the original character classes, existing alongside Warrior and Sorcerer in 1997's Diablo. The Rogue hasn't been seen since--it wasn't included in Diablo II or Diablo III. The fifth class in Diablo IV has yet to be revealed.

Now Playing: Diablo IV Rogue Gameplay Reveal Trailer | BlizzCon 2021

No Caption Provided

The Rogue is a dexterity-based character class, with a versatile skill tree that allows you to master both melee and ranged attacks, as well as abilities that let you set traps or use shadow magic. So it sounds less like the original Rogue class and more like Diablo III's Demon Hunter class, which is really just a loose combination of Diablo II's Amazon and Assassin classes.

We still don't know too much about Diablo IV, though Blizzard may reveal more information about the game during BlizzConline 2021.

Sad to see such beautiful graphics and frame rates and prolly fun game play... Get wasted on online only micro transaction game...

Also as of late Blizzard has just been angering the fanbase more than they are pleasing it so that's also annoying...

Still feeling like this game will suck lol.

How's that diablo 2 remaster going? It too wont be online only with microtransactions will it? I live in texas and was without internet and power for a week!

@goldenageplayer: I'm not seeing much to get excited about here. Hoping those graphics are pre-pre-alpha.

@goldenageplayer: I didn't know they were focusing hard on microtransactions. That's such a shame.

@cboye18: Not really everyone. And even those that do mostly just make aesthetic options available through microtransactions.

@goldenageplayer: Yep, my concerns exactly. I've played all three Diablo games on release and may very well skip this one simply because it's an always-online, persistent-world game (D3 annoyed me greatly for its always-online). I don't want to play WoW with a Diablo skin, thanks. When I want to play in a party, I'll find a party. But, most of the time, I want to play Diablo solo or with a small number of friends...I have no desire to fight with random 12 year olds over a "kill x #" mob I need for a quest.

@bingoh: Exactly! Same friggin boat as you man. Exactly how I feel!

As for you Hawk. Yes I got turned off when I heard the news a few months ago lol. Real shame too because that trailer was amazing... The game play looks kool. Visuals are more of what the fans want. And the frame rates are butter smooth. LOVE IT!

But if you're going to turn it into a generic micro transaction never ending game like fart nite, pub gross, kokodoody, theftiny, bendovercrotch etc etc... Then count me out lol. I got enough good games to keep me satisfied enough. I got the money... It's just the principle of the thing. Why should blizzard be able to sucker hundreds of dollars out of me through micros for a game that's only worth about 50 bucks lol. Criminal almost. I want no part in that.

I look at it as a good thing. One less thing I feel pressured to buy lol. That diablo 2 remake thingy looks sick though and that's less likely to have wallet r8p bullcrap so there ya go : )

Although it might be online only which is lame but not a total deal breaker for me.

As for you cboye. Not true. Or at least... When you say everyone... Wtf do you mean by that??????

Last time I checked blood bourne doesn't have micros. Dark souls 3. Nor does witcher 3. Or breath of the wild. Or god of war 4. Or ff7 remake. Or last of us 2. Or ghosts of sushi land. Or Sekiro. The new spider man games. Or resident evil 2 remake. All games that came out in the pat 5ish years and were LOVED. Well maybe not so much last of us 2 because of sexist weirdos lol but everyone else dug it haha. So you see? Not everyone in the game dev world is a greedy punk lol. I know the games I mentioned often have a lil dlc but it's never anything ridiculous.

Small potatoes dlc is NOT what I'm talking about. Most folks can afford a extra 10 or 20 bucks here and there. I'm talking about micro transactions which is a term used to describe scams in gaming basically. Endlessly trying to suck you into a hole that pressures you to keep spending more and more and more on the same dumb game just so you can get a blue shot gun or a green hat lol. Hundreds of dollars later and you start asking yourself why you're such a gullible dumb dumb lololol. THAT is what I'm talking about. Dirty exploits taking advantage of peoples addictions to gambling and will. Ya know... Stuff that was made illegal in Belgium because it's actually harmful to society.

DLC in a game that's a lil over priced? 10 or 20 bucks here and there? It can be lame at times but it wont break your bank lol.

Micro transaction games like halo 5 or newer cod games for example, which has burn cards for guns in their newest and biggest game modes... You can earn em slow as heck by grinding OR you can pay to have a temporary unfair advantage. Once you use said gear... It's gone forever until you buy more or grind for it. Either way it's a set up to get you tried. To get you to fork over cash lol. And this is a pretty dirty way of doing it. You're essentially getting digital temporary nothingness at ridiculously high prices. The kind of prices that could feed a fam for a week lol.

I'm looking at over watch micros right now. What's this?

Micros man... They suck and hurt gaming. What's lame is some gamers defend this stuff. Saying that the micro transaction money goes towards making the game better. What a joke that mostly is. And I can prove it.

Well jerks... Micro transaction culture has been in full swing for about a decade. Let's start with destiny. A micro transaction game that came out in 2014. Well folks... Has destiny's micro transactions schemes made the franchise WAY better? Lol no... Just no......

You hear horror stories of devs getting treated like crap at fart nite for example. Eyeah man. That micro transaction money sure is making things better for em over there isn't it? Perhaps the money isn't just going into the pockets of a few rich ceo types? EA needs money too amiright fellers???

My sarcasm and rantyness aside... You know what I mean lol.

Lol it's even worse for cod. Ask the base what their fav one is. Trust me... The majority of answers you get will be cod 4 or world at war back in the 360 xbox and ps3 days. Cod games that DON'T wallet r8p. Imagine that lol. Same could be said about the gears of war franchise and battle front/field franchises.

See... Once you go full micro transaction greed. Expect the people to *****. Like I am right now lol. Stop making excuses... None are good enough to justify the greedy evil that this is...

And yes... I realize the list of games I gave was mostly single player. Now cyobe. If you said that pretty much all multiplayer game devs are going the micro transaction route. I would sadly have to agree with you on that... And I think it's also disgusting that that's a thing. Gone are my glory days of halo 2, halo 3, and halo reach. Todays multiplayer game devs seem to mostly not care about a fun game but rather just money... And I know game making tends to always be about the money... I get that... But still... This is some pretty freakin never before seen levels of greed in the gaming industry. And I thought them suckering quarters out of me in the 80s arcades was bad lolz. This kind of micro transaction wallet r8p is on a whole new level lol.

I just found something out that's pretty funny. Just now went to google. All I typed was "kid spends" And it automatically wanted to take me to a bunch of stories of micro transaction bafoonery lol. Typical. see folks? I'm right. Micros suck lol. More harm than good. Is there any good??? Sure don't seem like it lolz.

It looks like an amped-up Diablo III, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but is it going to be different enough to feel like a new game, like going from Diablo to Diablo II and Diablo II to Diablo III?

Well if we have the "evil/chaotic neutral" character I suppose it would make sense for the next class to be "holy" so I expect some sort of paladin-type character. Paladin, cleric, priest...something along those lines.

Then again maybe not, maybe they'll surprise me with something like the Witch Doctor class did in D3.

With Diablo 2 Remastered coming out in 2021, maybe Diablo 4 won’t be until 2022?

@lordbeefjerky: Regardless of D2 Resurrected, I don't think there was any chance at all that we were going to see D4 this year.

I'm thinking holiday of '22 for D4. 🙂
