Leaked ahead of PlayStation State of Play, a new Digimon Story game is coming in 2025.

An unannounced Digimon game was leaked ahead of February's PlayStation State of Play but, other than a title, not much was known. The game, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, was officially revealed during the presentation with a new trailer.

The latest entry in the RPG Digimon Story series that dates back to the first game on Nintendo DS in 2006, Time Stranger sees you travel through multiple worlds and times, collecting and training the digital monster companions you encounter for turn-based battles.

As seen in the new trailer, Time Stranger is set to release in 2025. The trailer only lists PS5 as a platform (likely because the trailer debuted during State of Play) but since the Digimon Story series has regularly been released for both Nintendo and PlayStation systems in the past, we imagine this game is heading to Switch as well.

Oddly, as spotted by Gematsu, GameStop has preorder listings for Digimon Story: Time Stranger for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, so the game seems to be coming to Xbox as well. The series has never come out for Xbox but there's a first time for everything.

Back in 2017, Bandai Namco producer Kazumasa Habu confirmed that a new Digimon Story game was in development, confirming 2018's Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker's Memory would not be the last game in the series.

The last update we got from Habu was back during Digimon Con 2022, when he stated that the next Digimon Story game has a story themed around the Olympos XII, a group of 12 god-like Digimon, modeled after the real-life 12 Olympians.
