Digital version of MLB 14: The Show experiencing "unforeseen technical issues," not yet available for purchase [UPDATE]

Just got my hard copy yesterday. The install/downloading times are stupidly long. Go do something else for 24 minutes. BUT, once loaded, the game plays wonderfully, new fielding's smooth, & stunning graphics

I have it... load times are ridiculously long... the framerate stops to 30 or so when you have batter intros and cut scenes. Otherwise it isn't bad. But no hair physics makes hair look odd. It's the sane fun game it's always been though...

I'll get it once the price drops. Still playing The Show 2013 on my PSVita.

I just bought the game and am downloading it right now. I'm looking forward to starting my career as a SP for the Pirates.

According to Son's Twitter and FB pages, looks like the issue is fixed. I might have to check this game out. Haven't played a decent MLB game in years!

Don't let them fool you. "Unforeseen technical issues" is management babble "we didn't budget enough time for testing."

I still think they never get the faces quite right.

They can put all of the hair and skin textures they want on them they still look like Disney characters to me. Obviously that was an exaggeration.

Maybe it is the eyes, but there is something just not quite right.

GO PHYSICAL!

This game was my first serious consideration for PS4, this news doesn't change that. Best of luck Sony.

So when is this nonsense going to be fixed? And are we going to have this bullshit trouble with our EU digital version tomorrow?

At least this is a little more than just a port for the PortSystem4.

Sony showed a complete lack of appreciation for it's customer's. The game was suppose to be posted at 12:01 EST. It still is not up. There was no update given to any of the people pre-ordered the game until this morning's blog post.

A simple message through the PS4 notifications would have gone a long way. Many people like me wasted time checking the downloads throughout the night.

All the next gen hair technology clogged the bandwidth pipes.

Not enough beard detail. I'll wait until the 2016 game. There should be full beard physics by then.

It sucks how this is the only good baseball game to ever look forward to. Its all thanks to the stupidity of EA buying exclusive rights to the NFL and effectively stopping their competitor from releasing their product. That in turned forced 2K to be defensive and buy the MLB license as revenge and unfortunately release one crappy game after another until it was canceled. There was a time when everyone was free to make an NFL or MLB game and the games were better than, when they had to compete for sales. EA really loves screwing over everything.

We need NFL game like this.

The review screams mediocre port to me. Not that I'm in to baseball, but PASS! all the same.

I thought playing video games was the best sport in the world.
