Discreet releases free gmax game-editing software
The Autodesk division announces the release of its latest game editor.
Discreet, a division of Autodesk, has announced the release of its gmax game development platform and game-content editor. The software was developed from technology used in Discreet's 3ds max animation and modeling software. The consumer version of gmax lets players create and edit in-game content including levels, materials, 3D objects, characters, and animations. The software is now available for download free from the official Discreet Web site.
Discreet is also offering its gmax tempest game pack in a free downloadable beta version. Gmax tempest lets players create custom content for Quake III Arena, the popular multiplayer first-person shooter developed by id Software.
