Dishonored 2's PC Framerate, Mouse Issues Will Be Addressed in a Patch Soon
An update will arrive in the "coming days."
Dishonored 2 officially launches today, but those who preordered were able to get their hands on it a day early. Reports quickly began coming in about performance issues with the PC version, and while Bethesda and Arkane offered tips for mitigating them, there is no perfect workaround. Today, Arkane announced a patch is on the way intended to address the ongoing complaints.
"We have been monitoring the PC forums and social channels and while we're excited to hear that many of you are enjoying the game, we are disheartened that some of you are experiencing PC performance issues on some systems," Arkane said today. "We are actively working to provide an update to address your concerns."
Specific details weren't shared--both the update itself and the accompanying patch notes will be "available in the coming days." All Arkane would say is that it's "preparing a patch intended to provide improvements to allow for more consistent framerates on affected systems and provide an update to the mouse code for smoother input."
Those are two of the issues we've seen frequently raised by players on places like Steam. The official response pointed to specific settings that could be adjusted to improve performance. It's also recommended that you shy away from higher graphical settings unless you have high-end hardware.
