Disney+ Reveals Prices And Which Countries It Will Be Available In This November
Canada, the Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand join the club.
Disney's upcoming streaming platform Disney+ is now less than three months from launch, and the first details about its international roll-out have been revealed. It's been confirmed that Canada, the Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand will join the US in getting the service in November--but notably, the UK is not yet listed among this initial batch.
The studio revealed that Disney+ will launch in Canada and the Netherlands on November 12, the same day that it launches in US. Australia and New Zealand will follow a week later, on November 19.
Disney has also confirmed the prices for a subscription to the service in each of these territories. In Canada, it will cost $9CAD per month/$90 per year, while in the Netherlands it's €7/€70. As for Australia and New Zealand, the Disney+ will be priced at $9AUD/$90 and $10NZD/$100 respectively. According to Deadline, Disney is still in negotiations for the platform to launch in other territories. In the US, it costs $7 per month/$70 per year.
The line-up for day one of Disney+ was announced in May. It includes 18 Pixar movies and every one of their theatrical shorts, the entire 13-movie "Signature Collection" of Disney classics, all 30 seasons of The Simpsons, various Star Wars and Marvel movies, and more than 5,000 episodes of Disney Channel TV shows. The much anticipated live-action Star Wars series The Mandalorian will also be available on launch day, while Avengers: Endgame will arrive in December.
Customers will be able to subscribe to Disney+ directly or via in-app purchases and will be available on a slew of platforms including Apple, Google, Microsoft's Xbox One, Sony via its Android TVs and the PlayStation 4 and Roku.
