Disney's Live-Action Aladdin Shows Off First Teaser Poster
Don't you dare close your eyes.
Disney's Aladdin, the live-action remake of the 1992 animated classic, has shown off its first teaser poster. The simple visual centers on an iconic symbol of the story, the ornate genie's lamp, surrounded by a purple glow with a tendril of smoke beginning to emerge from it. The tagline reads "Choose Wisely."
The poster gives us our first faint idea of what to expect from the visual style, which appears very similar to the animated movie. In fact, despite the barest glimpse of the lamp's surroundings, it looks very likely to be set in the Cave of Wonders--the location where the lamp was hidden among an array of other treasures, and where Aladdin discovered the Genie after being stranded.

Aladdin is set for May 24, 2019. It stars Will Smith as the Genie, Mena Massoud (Jack Ryan) as Aladdin, Naomi Scott (Power Rangers) as Princess Jasmine, and Marwan Kenzari (The Mummy) as Jafar. It's being directed by Guy Ritchie.
This is just one of several live-action adaptations of Disney's library of animated classics. We recently got our first look at the new Mulan from the movie of the same name. Other projects include Lady and the Tramp, The Lion King, Cruella based on 101 Dalmations, Tink based on Peter Pan, and Lilo & Stitch.
