Dissidia Final Fantasy NT Support Is Over
The game will remain available to play online in the near future.
Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is officially coming to an end after a last round of updates. For the arcade version, the update will hit February 20 and for the console versions, March 5. After that, Dissidia NT will be kept online and available to play in the near future. According to RPG Site, the game as a whole will eventually be taken down too. GameSpot has contacted Square Enix for confirmation on this.

There are no plans for a sequel

Dissidia NT will also not be receiving a sequel. "We don't want to make false anticipations, so we want to make it clear that right now there are no plans for a [Dissidia Final Fantasy] 2 at all," director Takeo Kujiraoka explained in a livestream.
The 3v3 multiplayer fighter game was released in the arcade in 2015, and in 2018, Square Enix brought the game to the PC and PS4. While the game did well in the arcade and featured a wide array of popular franchise characters, Dissidia NT's complicated battle mechanics, bloated 3v3 battles, and unreliable online systems did not win over console fans. In other Final Fantasy news, the Final Fantasy 7 Remake is coming in April 2020 to much fanfare. The trailer featuring Cloud in the iconic Honey Bee Inn mission and new fluffy Chocobo images certainly made the rounds on Twitter.
