DJ Hero fails to scratch UK charts

Glad Football manager is up at number 1, and for everyone who says people who play FM cant play Fifa, I have Fifa and im not that bad at it, Enjoy your manager mode on Fifa 10 cos, well it sucks

If you've got the money to spare, it's f'n worth it. I'm not a big hip-hop type fan, but my friend just picked this up and its crazy fun. Even two bad artists like Rihanna and The Killers end up sounding pretty good mixed together. The ability to rock along with the guitar co-op on some mixes is also amazing.

I'm not surprised! Activision need to rethink their UK prices if they want to sell this game. £100 for a plastic turntable? And then £170 for a gold one? Ridiculous. I'm not saying it's a bad game, but there are many more good games we can get this season that aren't unreasonably priced. If it was around the same price as Guitar Hero I would've got it, but you'd have to be either insane, or insanely rich to buy this one.

Bad timing and the price is too high. The holiday season is going to be insane and there are plenty of alternatives to a $120 game. I think it will sell, it's just an inopportune time for it to be released.

i like dj hero for people saying to act likee a wananabe mc what about GH and rock band thats basicly saying you wanna act like a wanna be band or a rock star(its a game people dont talk trash until you try the game)(any game for that matter)and see if its for you or not hello thats why blockbuster was invented and for some people saying 20 dollars less thats still not cheap.i just dont know why the gene of games are jackasses and thinking their the greatest thing on earth makes meh and alot of other feel bad. ITS a game NOT anything important, and move on (but i have to agree oct. and nov. and dec there is too many blockbuster games comin now and later and in this economy to be able to buy all those games and thus things get rushed i (just wished that game companys and devolpers to take the time to release a game.One more thing stop having fan boy this and that its getting lame everybody is a fan of something so there is no need to debate what games (consoles are the best )(how you going to do in the real world where that does not work)beacuse it shows you cant grown up and move on

Yeah, it's blockbuster game release time, october, November, people are rather buying 3 of the new great releases than one rythm game. It's cool, I want it eventually but right now, my gaming budget is defenitely going elsewhere. Bad time to release, end of.

As if you release a game when FM comes out the UK is one footy mad place in the world and FM is the best management sim out there and besides DJ Hero is just a new milking product with a different controller.

This doesn't surprise me, as I didn't get it. GH 4 was a stretch for me to get and that was only $18 bucks when I finally did get it. I enjoy my music genre games, not as much as I used to but I do. However I just can't stand buying a new disc full of junk songs with only a few that actually interest me. Not to mention those few that interest me I probably already have on Rock Band which I picked up via DLC. I just like how over the last few years I have built my own game via Rockband DLC, to the sum of a ton of songs I actually like. I feel like Harmonix cators to us and because of that they get my cash. Unless Activision does something really cool I doubt any more of my hard earned cash will go into the guitar hero franchise. But I will continue to buy DLC for my Rock band.

This is just my opinion, but I prefer to rock out ridiculously with the plinky, plonky, squeaky Fisher-Price guitars, pretending to be on stage with Joan Jett holding a small yappy doggy; rather than stand, rooted to one spot while fiddling with some turn table thingy looking like some Chav. But that's just me. Plus the price is off-putting.

I am really not surprised that DJ hero has done well, not saying that there is a image of gamers, but most people who own a console are not into that sort of stuff.

me and the security guard at target already plotted it out. it will be banjo hero, then bh, hee haw edition, then ryman auditorium(grand ole opry) edition, and then SLIDE GUITAR HERO! but we came to a conclusion or agreement. if we are still at target, we will not stop the person whos stealing em because buying those games would be embarrassing enough

I bet if they just make it cheaper it'd be flying off the shelves.

In all reality DJ Hero isn't a bad game, in fact it's pretty fun. The steep price is the cause of this poor debut, since even I decided to only shell out 40 bucks for it, while my other two friends payed their share for it. Its steep, not even the first three Guitar Hero games cost that much, and the guitar controllers were better made compared to the weak crossfader and blue button on the turntable. Drop the price and you'll see more people pick it up, but then again Activision is STILL selling CoD4 ten dollars under its launch price.

Activision can suck it, I hope the rest of their games crash and burn like this.... Sad thing is none of this matters because the blind masses will eat up Modern Warfare 2 in a few short weeks.....

You really need to play it to appreciate the game. I was hesitant to purchase it but after playing it it was worth every cent. I would recommend the game to anyone even those who are not keen on dj'ing. The game is loads of fun.

this is the problem with activision it seems like every year they realse a new addition to a game series and now its getting to point were it's been over done. I exspect band hero to do worse in sales. it's like tony hawk all over again. well at least dj hero was a good idea in theory.

DJ Hero would sell a lot better if it dropped from 120 to 100 because no doubt itd be 60 for the game but another 60 for a few dollars of plastic n wires? Come on.Im acutally considering buying it because i saw 2 gameplay videos on Youtube and they sounded great.

i work at target, and ive only seen one sold and that was the 360 version. it was funny because i went on a tirade about the game with my co workers and a guy came with one, and he heard my tirade about you could buy a cheap deck to hook up to your pc, he turned around, put up the ps3 version and bought a dj deck for his pc for 99 bucks! HA!

This game shouldn't sell many copies. It's way overpriced. That little plastic thing costs a few dollars to make and adding it to the bundle doubles or even triples the price? Come on! It's also only good for one game. There likely won't be a sequel due to these bad sales, so it's a huge waste of money for all the people who did buy it. Also, who wants to just spin a disc and press the buttons? Most of the music on there is awful hip-hop anyways. The first three guitar heroes and two rock bands were great. The whole genre is ruined now. Thanks a million activision.

Activision needs to stop fooling themselves, people are not gonna buy a game with a peripheral that costs almost as much as a console.

O the irony of that first sentence. But DJ hero is crap, its not even normal songs, its these God awful mish mashes of two songs that dont go well together.

I thought this title was also over priced until i found out all 93 songs were mixed just for this game! so for the amount of time and effort and how surprisingly good it is, i didn't mind paying £89.99 for it at all! just wish people would start complaining about the price of COD 6...

This wasn't unexpected.

Not sure how much you have to sell to come in 20th, but that sounds like a decent debut to me. Activision has already said that they expect this franchise to build over time, after people see what it's really about. Personally, I don't think this game is for me at all, but good luck to them.

Becoming a "DJ" just doesn't have the same straightforward, mainstream appeal that Rock Band and Guitar Hero have. I predicted this when the game was first announced.

Maybe they will get the hint that the market is over saturated with expensive music peripheral games.

well, real turn tables, is nothing compared to dj hero -_- there is more skill involved then making scratching noise and pushing a few buttons. i wasnt surprised about this not doing that well. and like justhat1 said, pay is (b-word in here)
