DOA Xtreme Volleyball receives M rating
Despite Tecmo's efforts, its upcoming volleyball game will receive the ESRB's second-highest rating.
Tecmo has announced that its upcoming volleyball game for the Xbox, Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball, will receive an M rating from the ESRB.
"While there isn't rampant nudity in the game, there are certain elements that caused the ESRB to give it the nudity descriptor," said John Inada, director of marketing and sales at Tecmo. "As with all other games in the Dead or Alive franchise, we believe the stunning visuals, explosive action, and classic arcade gameplay will bring Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball to an even wider audience of admirers."
Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball features characters from the cast of the Dead or Alive fighting game series, as well as one new character named Lisa. Players will be able to participate in a game of volleyball, buy items for various characters, and even explore the island where the game takes place.
Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball is scheduled for release on January 21.
