Doom co-creator making virtual reality games for Oculus Rift

how come when i login on this stupid page it doesnt keep me on the page i was on, instead it takes me back to the homepage and i lose and have to refind the article i want to post on. fix that crap its annoying

this product wont work, they have tried it time and time again. the idea and concept is cool and i wish it would work. but did these guys even do there research as to why it failed in the past? its because it messes up your vision badly and throws off your perception and that can lead to lawsuits. thats why the sega glasses and virtual boy was yanked from stores. thats also why 3d originally was stopped in gaming and sony basically reinvented it knowing that its bad for people but still did it anyways. see back in the day product companys were more cautious as to peoples health if they knew something was the least bit bad they wouldnt take the risk of putting it out. now a days they dont give a crap at all and stock shelves with energy drinks. 3d for example tricks your perception in your vision and when you turn it off or take glasses like these off your perception slowly goes back. a hour here and there isnt noticeable, but when you play for multiple hours, multiple days, over a long period of time over and over it takes longer and longer for your perception to go back to normal. which easily leads to a lawsuit. it will be better off if this product does fail, because if it doesnt fail and tons of kids play it for a enormous amount of time then they are going to have some major health issues

All we need now is doom 4 for this Oculus

Star Citizen, the forest and now carmack among others developing software for it. Sure will have some kickass software support.

Guess he doesn't want to sell very many games.

They could sell the rift, and put one test game out, and let the moders create some games. I would easily pay $300 to beta test this beast.

Carmack, please, stop this PR campaign and release the goddamn thing!

The Oculus Rift is awesome, can't wait for the technology to be crispy sharp :D

i'll let you guys buy it first come back and pick me up with the bandwagon when they actually have a real hit game.

with the stuff we have now it should work way better than the 90s

I really hope that something good comes from this company. I played VR games back in the early nineties and thought it was incredible, so, with today's technology, this could end up being the next big thing.

It is just about the most amazing gaming experience i've ever had in my life, i would pay 300 for it even if it just had that one game. Its absolutely mindblowing.

Unless you think being immersesd in a game is a gimmick, it also can be used for other thing soutside of games.

i want to hear about sony's plans for VR the head display they kind of showed at this years CES seemed pretty cool, but am unsure if it will be used for gaming aswell.

Well they do need some games. It could be great but if there is nothing to play that can use it who gives a crap? Well I guess I could shop on Amazon using it. The $300 price tag is a piss take just to search for DVDs and games though.
