Doom Patrol, DC Universe's Weirdest And Best Series, Gets Season 2 Release Date And Synopsis

The next season of Doom Patrol will be coming to DC's streaming service and HBO Max on the same day.

The streaming service DC Universe has announced the premiere date for Season 2 of its most bizarre series, Doom Patrol. On June 25 the series will return to DC Universe, and it will also debut that day on the upcoming service HBO Max.

Additionally, the official synopsis for Season 2 was revealed. If you haven't watched Season 1 yet, you may want to keep scrolling, as there are a few spoilers for the first season below.

Now Playing: Doom Patrol - 'Meet The Doom Patrol' Official Teaser Trailer | DC Universe

"Following the defeat of Mr. Nobody (Alan Tudyk), the members of the Doom Patrol find themselves shrunken and stranded on Cliff's toy race car track. Here they begin to deal with their feelings of betrayal by Niles Caulder aka The Chief (Timothy Dalton), while confronting their own personal baggage. As each member faces the challenge of growing beyond their own past traumatic experiences, they must come together to embrace and protect the newest member of the family: Dorothy Spinner (Abigail Shapiro), Niles' daughter, whose powers remain a mysterious but real threat to bringing on the end of the world."

Doom Patrol is an adult live-action superhero series following a group of atypical heroes as they "fight the good fight" against evil beings. Everything about the first season is truly unique and weird. A great example of this is early on in the season, the team got trapped in a dimension contained within a donkey.

Most of the cast from Season 1 will be returning for Season 2, while the only new addition mentioned was Shapiro, playing Dorothy Spinner--the daughter of The Chief. Here's the casting list for the next season.
