Dragon Ball FighterZ Nintendo Switch Beta Starts Tonight
Rock the dragon on the Nintendo Switch.
Dragon Ball FighterZ is launching on Nintendo Switch this September, but if you want to kamehameha on the go before then, you can give the open beta a whirl. It kicks off starting August 9 at 9 PM PT / 12 AM ET on August 10, and will end at 11:59 PT on August 11.
The beta includes a Practice Battle Tutorial, Arena Match, Ring Match, and Ring Party Match. It will also let you tinker with all the playable characters in the starting roster, along with Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta, for a total of 23 in all. Check out the full roster below.
When it launches, the full Switch release will include a few new local multiplayer options, like an offline six-player Party Match and 2v2 and 1v1 matches. Pre-ordering will net you the Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta at launch, along with a digital copy of the rare Super Famicom game Dragon Ball Z: Super Butoden.
The full game releases on September 28. In GameSpot's Dragon Ball FighterZ review, Peter Brown said it "bottled the essence of what makes the series' characters, animation, and sense of humor so beloved and reconfigured it into something new: a Dragon Ball fighting game that can go toe-to-toe with the best of the genre."
