Pokémania continues to surge among gamers, as the latest releases featuring the pocket monsters are selling at a record pace. Nintendo today announced that Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl, both released this past Sunday, have sold a total of more than 1 million copies.
In their first five days of release, the first proper Pokémon games for the red-hot Nintendo DS are selling at a faster rate than any other Pokémon game to date. The two games have sold more than 5 million copies in Japan, where they released last September. Since debuting more than a decade ago, 155 million-plus Pokémon games have been sold worldwide.
