DS takes flight with Japan Air

I read in the DS manual that you should not play your DS on a plane because it may interfere with their technical equipment and the pilot may crash the plane if the navigation systems ain't working properly. anyone remember the episod of The Simpsons where they fly to japan and Bart is playing a gameboy or something like that on the plane? it has the opposite effect than what it should the gameboy should have interfered with the plane where the Game Boy that bart plays with stabilised the plane

now i know where to spend my summer vacation

Pilot: "we just landed the plane... please restrain from your seats and unboard the plane" man playing DS: "JUST WAIT... WAIT WAIT WAAAAIIIITTTT!!! IM TRYING TO GET 3 STARS ON THIS MISSION!!!"

if i was flying first or executive class, i dont expect myself to be cooped up in a small seat

That's an interesting move. I flew JAL heavily - to the tune of about 1.2 million miles - in the mid-90s for hops across the pond (JFK to Narita and back) and just about the only thing that kept me sane was that you could play a portable Genesis for just about the entire flight, if you wanted to. Most of the games were in Japanese, but for games like Puyo Puyo and Sonic 2/Spinball, that didn't really matter. Back when all we had to travel with was our Game Boy Bricks, playing Genesis on an airplane was light years ahead, and a real treat.

Another reason to fly Japan Airlines ^_^

Diggyzoom, do you always have to make comments like that? Anyway, I think that's a cool idea. If people on the planes play the DS and like it, then they might buy one for themselves and thus skyrocketing DS sales even higher. I like the idea.

Last time I went on an airplane trip I took my DS myself. But then I was in economy/coach seating not first or executive class, so I would've had to bring my own anyway. And mine didn't have wireless disabled. Take that first class!

Dress nice and hope for a bump. If you can afford first/executive class, a free DS is the least of your worries.

as long as the pilot is paying attention ti flying rather than mariokart, im happy. i think its a cool idea, but it doesnt affect my life.

i wana fly to japan now....stuck here with my old ds. i feel deprived.

This isn't new to me.....I've put my DS through a couple of flights

no multiplayer in Mario Kart? how was i play Mario Kart with my friend over lan. did the Japan game not get multiplayer?.

Sadly you might not be able to play wireless multi player on Mario Kart Ds. But heck, cool idea. As good as those planes with Snes on.
