A month after Super Meat Boy reached 1 million in sales, tower-defense action role-playing game Dungeon Defenders has also hit that mark. According to its publisher, sales of the game across Xbox Live, the PlayStation Network, and PC now number at over 1 million.

Over 1 million have defended dungeons in Dungeon Defenders.

The news stems from Joystiq, which confirmed the new sales milestone with Doug Kennedy, CEO of the game's publisher, Reverb Publishing.

Dungeon Defenders launched on Xbox Live, the PlayStation Network, and Steam in October for $15, and it has subsequently welcomed multiple add-on packs. The game is also planned for the PlayStation Vita.

Developed by Trendy Entertainment, the downloadable Dungeon Defenders is a mix of tower-defense and action role-playing games. The title features drop-in/drop-out cooperative play for up to four players, with four distinct character classes like the squire and huntress.

Great fun but the end game ends up as a grind fest to get the best items.

I got this on the XBox but unfortunately the cheats are so out in force now it makes finding a game hard. The majority of games i join you get kicked instantly for not having 'modded' weapons. Basically cheaters who have adjusted their saves so their weapons do millions in damage. Hopefully it will be patched soon so these kids are banned / have their characters reset.

It's a great game, but it suffers from a lack of excitement from time to time. I bought it on the cheap from steam during Christmas and I enjoy playing it every so often. I think more or less this is a game that's going to either get a much better sequel down the line or a new game that features a lot of the same mechanics from the same developer. I applaud them for trying something new and being successful at it. It's worth trying if you have any interest in action RPG's or tower defense.

I recommend the PC version if you love the game. That version is getting tons of support with new maps and characters. Consoles will not be receiving this support due to some disagreement with MS (source: RPGamer). I wish Orcs Must Die! had this kind of RPG depth. A game with such fun gameplay combined with the depth of Defenders would be my dream game.

I bought this thanks to the demo being fun. Fast forward to 6 hours later, the whole group of people left at my house after a party ended up playing all day, split-screen coop. It was a ton of fun! Dungeon Defenders, Iron Brigade (formerly Trenched), and Monday Night Combat are all great action/tower defense games, just each with their own style.

This game is great...but...a killer with burn-in images from the horrible HUD from this game.

I'm addicted to it right now. Trying to reach lvl 74 with my Apprentice and then move onto my Squire. Very fun.

@velentar You really should play it. All games exclusive items are really bad unless you're just starting out. The portal gun is just that, a portal gun. It's not an actual weapon, although you can still use Hawk Shot with it. (I think that's the ability name) This game really is fun. I suggest you all give it a try. It's a tower defense game mixed with action, and it was really well done.

I was addicted to it with my brother one weekend, but when my ranger reached level 30 I was sorely disappointed by the Steam-Exclusive Portal gun and I haven't really played it since.
