Dungeons And Dragons Star Chris Pine Is "Pretty Confident" They'll Make A Sequel
The actor who portrayed bard Edwin Davis added that he'd love to return for another movie.
Casting a spell of confidence, Chris Pine believes a sequel to Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves "may happen." And if so, the actor who portrayed bard Edgin Darvis in the fantasy film wants to come back for another adventure.
Speaking with GamesRadar, Pine chatted about the possibilities of Dungeons & Dragons 2. "I've heard some rumors about it," the actor said. "But I don't know anything yet. But I feel pretty confident that it may happen."
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves opened with a solid $72 million at the worldwide box office earlier this year. However, ultimately, the fantasy film ended up with $208 million against a reported $150 million budget. So the math might make it a bit tricky for Paramount to roll the dice on a sequel.
If you haven't seen the movie, GameSpot spoke with directors Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley about how they made Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves easy to understand for newbies. The surprisingly great film came to Paramount+ in May and is now streaming on Amazon Prime as well. Along with Pine, the cast includes Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, and Hugh Grant.
There is reportedly a Dungeons & Dragons TV series in the works at Paramount+, though specific details aren't known yet.
