Dying Light Getting Free DLC Based On Destiny Spoof

Dying Light developer Techland has announced free DLC based on a joke they made earlier this year.

Destiny launched a campaign in June that encouraged players to drink Red Bull for DLC codes they could redeem in-game. But instead of drinking energy drinks, the zombie game developer asked players to drink water.

The #DrinkForDLC content that was announced back in September has been detailed. It comes in three parts, all of them being H2O-influenced and free of charge. Players will receive The Fountain of Youth, an exploration-based quest that takes place in Old Town; Water 2.0, a blueprint for an electrifying throwable weapon that intensifies other electric attacks; and new parkour challenges designed around the theme of water.

Players will receive the hydration-based DLC as part of Dying Light: The Following - Enhanced Edition, which releases on February 9 of next year. Owners of the original game will get a free update, along with the #DrinkForDLC content, on the same day.

Back in November, it was announced that The Following DLC's price would be raised because of the increased scale of the expansion. GameSpot talked with Techland about how the upcoming expansion was inspired by community feedback.
