E3 2001: New Max Payne trailer

3D Realms and Gathering of Developers have just released a new trailer of the third-person shooter, Max Payne. The game puts you in the shoes of a New York City detective on a mission of vengeance for the brutal death of his wife and children. Aside from being powered by a visually impressive 3D engine, Max Payne will also make use of technology that will mimic the slow-motion and "bullet time" effects used in the movie The Matrix.

The video is available via either a .ZIP file or through streaming footage. The .ZIP file contains Quicktime and Windows Media formats of the movie. We'll have more on Max Payne from E3.
