E3 2001 Preshow Report: Konami announces Frogger: The Great Quest

The famous amphibian will embark on his first true 3D adventure in Frogger: The Great Quest, which is being developed for the Sony PlayStation 2. In the game, Frogger will explore large organic worlds, from swampy towns to desert wastelands. Frogger will have to swim through rivers, navigate waterfalls, and explore giant, spooky castles while collecting power-ups, avoiding hazards, and engaging enemies. The roster of secondary characters and enemies is equally as robust--80 new characters including mosquitoes, toads, and cats will inhabit Frogger's world.

Frogger: The Great Quest will be released for the Sony PlayStation 2 this fall. A Game Boy Advance version of the platformer is also in development.
