E3 2002: Dark Cloud 2 announced for US release

Sony has announced plans to bring Level-5's recently unveiled game, Dark Chronicle, to the US under the name Dark Cloud 2. Level-5, the Japanese company that developed the original Dark Cloud, will develop the sequel.

Dark Cloud 2 will feature an enhanced version of the georama gameplay system that let you create and enhance the game's towns. This sequel will also feature an invention system that will let you upgrade and repair your weaponry and other equipment. Sony claims the game will have over 100 hours of gameplay.

Dark Cloud 2 is scheduled to ship either near the very end of this year or near the beginning of 2003.
