E3 2002: Soccer Slam on the Xbox and PS2
Sega announces that its over-the-top GameCube soccer game will appear on different platforms.
Sega has announced that its GameCube soccer game Sega Soccer Slam is headed to the PS2 and the Xbox. The new versions of this over-the-top soccer game, which was developed by Black Box Games, will have three new secret teams, two new minigames to play, and enhanced graphics for each console. According to Tom Nichols, Sega's director of sports marketing, "The announcement of Sega Soccer Slam for the Xbox and PlayStation 2 demonstrates Sega's commitment to delivering its original content to new users across all video game platforms." The new versions will have an enhanced arcade mode, as well as a new challenge mode, which will let players edit their teams by mixing and matching players from different teams in order to unlock the new versions' new secret teams.
The Xbox and PS2 versions of Sega Soccer Slam are scheduled for release this fall.
