E3 2014: Role-Playing Game X Now Officially Xenoblade Chronicles X

If you understand what the character designs look like in the Xenosaga trilogy and Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii), you should understand what X is all about. Never judge a book by its cover.

<< LINK REMOVED >> Chrono Trigger and Suikoden 2 are both games with silent protagonists and stories that were really good (in my opinion at least), so I wouldn't be judging just yet. Honestly, X is giving me a Fallout feel, I know Bethesda are definitely not good story tellers, but I feel like this game is going to take the rebuild Colony 6 thing, but expand it into an entire game giving it an almost Fallout 3 or New Vegas feel, but with a good story behind it hopefully.

<< LINK REMOVED >> You should give this game a chance for once. Furthermore, this is NOT a Monster Hunter game. This game is a cross between Xenogears and the Xenosaga trilogy with the traditional elements that made the Wii version of Xenoblade Chronicles a huge hit in Japan. In Xenoblade Chronicles X, it has everything and more. More details and improvements are still ahead so have patience and stay tuned.

<< LINK REMOVED >> I would argue that Xenoblade was a high fantasy/space opera mash up, or on the same playing field as a lot of modern Final Fantasies. It's got jets and lasers and robots, but the plot plays out like a high fantasy epic. This new Xenoblade definitely looks to be more in line with Xenogears. I'm thinking most of it will be on a a planet if not all of it, as opposed to Xenosaga which was a poorly executed space opera.

@meharu Xenoblade is 45 bucks at every gamestop. It got reprinted months ago.

<< LINK REMOVED >> Are you talking about how expensive it is used like at Gamestop? If so, that's partially because Xenoblade Chronicles didn't have a very large volume of games made for the US, and partially because GS opened new copies to sell them as used to make more of the profits =/

@Thanatos2k I was also interested in Pier Solar and the Great Architects. Of course that could be 3ds as it was an e-shop game.

<< LINK REMOVED >> Yeah but I wish he would be allowed to finish his series for once. Xenogears was envisioned as a 6 part series, but Square only allowed them to make one game, so they left Square and joined Namco where they could continue making Xeno games. Except they didn't own the legal rights to Xenogears so Saga could not officially be connected to Gears. This series was also meant as a 6 part series, but it got cut short after XS3, and they did not complete the story they intended. Then they got bought out by Nintendo, and once again lost the rights to both Xenosaga and Xenogears, and had to start again with a new series not officially connected to their past two series.

I really hope this time Monolith gets to finish their series before leaving Nintendo or being bought out by someone else.

<< LINK REMOVED >> lol sony did not do that great this E3, it had some good games like The Order 1886, Uncharted 4, Entwined, No Man's Sky, Let it Die and Bloodborne, but I was more hooked on Smash Bros., Xenoblade Chronicles X, Splatoon, Zelda Wii U, Yarn Yoshi, Hyrule Warriors, Mario Party 10, Starfox, Pokemon Remakes.
