E3 2018: Cyberpunk 2077 Trailer Has A Hidden Message From CD Projekt Red
"Microtransactions? In a single-player game? Are you nuts?"
A new trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 debuted during Microsoft's E3 2018 press conference, and every frame was packed with information. In addition to codes for The Witcher 3, two very hard-to-find frames include two parts of a letter from developer CD Projekt Red (via Eurogamer), and it answers questions about microtransactions, DLC, the release date, and more.
The letter opens with an apology for the delay between the first Cyberpunk teaser in 2013 and the E3 2018 trailer. "We wanted to give you The Witcher 3 and both expansions first, which is why this period of staying silent was longer than we planned. Sorry for that," it reads. You can read the letter in its entirety below--we've edited the two frames into one screenshot so the whole letter is readable.
It then lays out four questions, FAQ-style. The first two, about the release date and how big the game is, both have vague answers--that the developer can't confirm anything quite yet, but that details are coming soon. CDPR does confirm that the game will not have microtransactions, will be 100% DRM free on PC, and as far as free DLC and expansions go, to "expect nothing less than you got with The Witcher 3."

Finally, the letter emphasizes that Cyberpunk 2077 is a "true single player, story-driven RPG. You'll be able to create your own character and...well, you'll get to know the rest from what we show at our booth at E3."
