E3 2018: Forza Horizon 4 Announced, Releasing On Xbox One / PC This Year
Looking out to the next horizon.
An entry in Microsoft's racing series has been a guarantee every year since 2011, and this year is no exception. Forza Horizon 4 was revealed with a premiere trailer and gameplay demo that showed off how it'll take you across Great Britain. Plenty of features were showcased, such as dynamic weather, different seasons, and shared world multiplayer.
The trailer featured a McLaren sports car cruising across different environments like a sunny countryside, frozen tundra, snowy mountains, rain-soaked village, and a damp, muddy field. Off-roading and motorcycles also appeared to be a big part of the new game. During the gameplay demo, cooperative races and events were shown off. Drivers that pop up in the open world are said to be real people; the previous entry, Forza Horizon 3, used player avatars to fill out the streets. Forza Horizon 4 is said to run at 60 FPS, but it wasn't clear if this was for Xbox One X or the base console.
Forza Horizon 4 is set to release on October 2, 2018 for Xbox One and PC; the game will also be available through Xbox Game Pass at launch and will feature Play Anywhere support (letting you buy a digital copy and play it on both platforms). We have you covered from every angle for this year's big show; check out all the news coming from Microsoft at E3 2018. Microsoft also announced Halo Infinite and went deeper into Metro Exodus gameplay.
