E3 2018: Skull And Bones Trailer Depicts The Golden Age Of Piracy
Piracy is dead. Long live piracy.
Skull & Bones isn't Ubisoft's first dip into piracy, as Assassin's Creed IV Blag Flag depicted the end of piracy's golden age. At E3 2018, a new trailer for Skull & Bones suggested Ubisoft's upcoming game would cover both the start and height of the age.
The trailer's narrator describes how piracy came to be. In an age where empires ruled, men and women who sought liberty escaped to the freedom that the open sea afforded. The trailer goes on to show how pirate captains adopted the black flag as their symbol, rose in power and infamy, and ultimately went their separate ways as they began to betray one another. However, in the face of powerful threats, the pirate captains realize they must unite in order to survive.
We've also learned that Skull & Bones will have a pre-launch beta and gotten a good look at some gameplay as players team up to take down a powerful adversary. Being pirates, however, they end up turning on each other.
At E3 2018, Ubisoft also announced that The Division 2 will be getting raids and gave us new trailers for both Beyond Good & Evil 2 and a new Trials game.
