E3 2018: Watch The Division 2's First Gameplay Video
The Division 2 transports players to DC in the Spring
Players got their first look at gameplay for The Division 2 at Xbox's E3 press conference. A few parts of The Division's world have changed, but the core mechanics of the gameplay seem to remain intact.
The Division 2 is set in Washington, DC and takes places six months after the events of the first game. Now in spring, agents will no longer have to deal with snow. Instead, rivers flow freely and, without fog, it's easier to see further down the horizon. The E3 trailer started in a jungle-like area that looks difficult to navigate. Plenty of trees and high shrubbery might offer plenty of opportunities for ambush or setting traps for other players.
The trailer then moved away from the jungle to a desolate street across from the Capitol Building. A firefight breaks out, offering an opportunity to show off some of the new weapons and pieces of tech. The firefight played out like most battles did in the first Division, with teammates working together to flank weaker targets before surrounding a more powerful enemy to pepper them to death.
