EA releases the first details on and the first screenshots from the next NASCAR racing game for the PC.

EA revealed two new details today--first, that the publisher will indeed produce a new NASCAR racing game for the PC, and second, that development of NASCAR PC racing games has been moved to the publisher's Tiburon Studio, located in Orlando, Florida (the traditional home of the publisher's Madden NFL series).

The new game has been in development for some 18 months and will feature a "Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series" championship format, along with other real-world racing series like the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and the NASCAR Busch Series. The publisher will hopefully reveal more details on the upcoming game in the near future.

Being a very big NASCAR enthusiast, this game is going to be on my top priority for purchase. The graphics look quite nice and I like the career features such as sponsorships and what appears to be moving up through the NASCAR racing series from the Weekly, to the Craftsman truck series and Stock cars. Boogity boogity boogity!
