ECTS 2001: New media: Shrek
We have new screenshots from this exclusive Xbox adventure game.
The Canadian branch of Digital Illusions, which was formerly named Sandbox Studios, is currently developing Shrek for the Microsoft Xbox. Thanks to a mixed-up spell from the evil sorcerer Merlin, Shrek's pal Donkey is trapped in a magic mirror. Now it's up to Shrek to help his faithful sidekick. Players assume the role of Shrek as he sets out to face Merlin. The object of the game is to restore the magic mirror's now-depleted powers of transportation. This is accomplished by performing good deeds throughout the game's levels. The game features eight worlds with five or six missions each. There will be characters from the movie included in the game, as well as newly created characters. There are currently no plans for any multiplayer support.
Shrek for the Xbox is currently scheduled to appear in the first quarter of 2002. We'll have more information as it becomes available.
