Thanks to a defunct organisation and half a team being willing to break ties with their roots and move to the land of opportunity, EG are once again a name being represented in the League of Legends Championship Series after destroying Determined Gaming in the LCS Promotional Series which took place on the third day of the Battle of the Atlantic.

The ones who would be facing them in the Promotional Series would be the homegrown heroes in Determined Gaming who fought on through the North American Challenger League, finishing 2nd in their conference with a 16-9 record. Another impressive showing in the Challenger Stage saw them skyrocket towards the LCS with thunderous steps, everything seemed to fall in to place for the North American dream team.

That was until their opponents in the Promotional Series went from being the bottom-placing team in the previous season of the LCS, Team Velocity, to a newly formed EG roster which featured American up-and-comers Tyson 'Innox' Kapler and Eugene 'Pobelter' Park. But the real story behind this new team were the three veterans from the legendary CLG.EU roster, Stephen 'Snoopeh' Ellis, Peter 'Yellowpete' Wüppen and Mitch 'Krepo' Voorspoels, this lineup showed no mercy this night upon the American heroes, glassing them 3-0 and firmly resecuring their position in the LCS.

With all three of the veterans coming back in what seems like a newly found fervor, they also helped lay the groundwork for what seems to be the start of a beautiful friendship with their newest recruits as none of the members of team EG left the LCS venue today without a sparkling in-game reputation as all of them delivered in terms of plays and coordination.

This makes EG the first team in the NA LCS to have advanced from the Promotional Series, tomorrow we will see if Team Coast has what it takes to retain their spot in the LCS as well as they face up against The Walking Zed.
