Elder Scrolls Online Sells 8.5 Million Copies, Director Says
Sounds like Bethesda's MMO is doing well.
The Elder Scrolls Online has 8.5 million players, according to a report from MMORPG.com. The figure, which was revealed by game director Matt Firor, is based on copies sold, not just registered accounts.
According to MMORPG, The Elder Scrolls Online has 7 million players as of June 2016, so it's added 1.5 million new players in less than a year.

The site reported that Firor said the Elder Scrolls Online player population is split "fairly evenly" among all platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
