Elite Dangerous Dev's New Rollercoaster Game Planet Coaster Shown Off
Get a good look at the upcoming rollercoaster game.
UK studio Frontier Developments has uploaded a new video for Planet Coaster, providing a deep and extended look at the new PC rollercoaster and theme park simulation game.
In the five-minute video, a handful of Frontier designers talk about what they think will make Planet Coaster stand out. They showcase the impressive-looking track-building tools as well as terrain-editing that will let you dig under ground where your coasters can also run. The video also covers the game's sharing functionality, through which users can publish their parks online for others to check out.
Planet Coaster was announced at E3 2015. It is due to launch later this year, though a specific release date has not yet been announced.
Frontier has a history with the roller coaster genre, having developed RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 and various Thrillville games. A new RollerCoaster Tycoon game from Atari is also scheduled to launch this year.
In addition to Planet Coaster, Frontier continues to support Elite: Dangerous. That PC space game has sold more than 1.4 million copies as of the end of 2015.
