Eve: Valkyrie Offers Cross-Play Between Oculus Rift, PlayStation VR, HTC Vive
Eve: Valkyrie will allow its players to play against those with different virtual reality headsets later this year.
Eve: Valkyrie released on Oculus Rift in March, and it launches on PlayStation VR and HTC Vive this year. And now, according to a report from Polygon, you'll be able to play against every other player regardless of the headset you or they own.
Executive producer Owen O'Brien announced that Eve: Valkyire will support cross-platform play. The news was revealed during developer CCP's Fanfest convention in Iceland.
"Valkyrie from the outset was made as a VR game, and we want people irrespective of the platform they're playing on to be able to flight together and die together," O'Brien said. "So that's a big important thing for us. That everyone can play together and we break down the barriers."
Everyone who preordered an Oculus Rift received a copy of Eve: Valkyrie as a bonus. The space combat game releases for PlayStation VR in October, while it'll launch on the Vive this year--a specific date has not been revealed.
