EyeToy cameras in demand
Nam Tai announces that it has increased its production capacity of the EyeToy USB camera by 14 times to cope with demand.
Nam Tai Electronics has today announced that it has increased its production capacity of the EyeToy USB camera for the PlayStation 2 by 14 times from 50,000 to 750,000 units per month. SCEE recently announced that it has sold over 1 million copies of EyeToy: Play in Europe and plans to launch a second EyeToy product, EyeToy: Groove, later this year.
"We are very excited to see that the EyeToy has received such a great market response since its first launch in Europe," said Tadao Murakami, chairman of Nam Tai. "We believe that EyeToy will continue to make a great success with its forthcoming release in both Japan and North America."
